Which Valves are Best Suited for Plumbing Systems?

Plumbing systems require valves to start and stop the flow of water through pipes to ensure a proper supply of water to the required areas. However, with time valves have evolved, and now even a number of valves are available in the market with additional qualities to facilitate the supply of water through water plumbing systems. Some valves only have the ability to regulate the flow of water through the pipe by opening and closing mechanisms. At the same time, some offer additional qualities like letting you control the volume of water flowing through the valve. With that being said, let’s have a look at all the valves that can be used in plumbing systems and which of these valves are better than the others.

Types of Valves Used in Plumbing Systems:

·         Ball Valve:

This valve is top of the list when it comes to selecting a valve for plumbing systems. It is used in a variety of systems like in industrial systems etc., but it is best-suited for plumbing systems as it ensures a smooth supply of water with zero wastage. It is designed like this in that it is a hollow ball-shaped valve that has a ball inside it. It uses only a quarter-turn rotary motion for its opening and closing; therefore, not much force is required in operating it, making it the easiest valve to operate. Therefore, if you want to install a new valve or want to change your existing valves, then you should contact a China ball valve manufacturer for cheaper prices.

·         Gate Valve:

This valve is also very much suited to use in plumbing systems. It also has the same functioning as that of a ball valve which is to control the flow of water by opening and closing. However, its structure is different as compared to a ball valve. Unlike the ball valve, this valve has a gate-like thing that is raised to start the flow of water through it and stops the flow of water when lowered. It is also different from a ball valve because it uses linear motion for its operation. One added benefit of using this valve is that it can be used for the bi-directional flow of water.

·         Globe Valve:

This valve is slightly different from the ball and gate valve as it not only performs the opening and closing functions but also has throttling capability. It lets you control the volume of water flowing through it; therefore, it can be suited to use in such areas pf plumbing systems that require this. It lets you control the volume of flowing water without any leakage, so zero water is wasted.

·         Butterfly Valve:

This valve is similar to the ball valve in the sense that it also uses a quarter-turn rotary motion; however, like the globe valve, this valve also has the ability to provide a throttling service. It has a disc that is attached to the stem of the valve. As you turn the valve a quarter, the disc opens, and it is up to you how much you open and closes the disc to control the volume of flowing water.
